Novak Djokovic backs young Serbian Tennis talent financially

Novak Djokovic offers financial support to 20-year-old Serbian Tennis sensation

Novak Djokovic, one of the most successful tennis players in history, is renowned for his generosity towards budding Serbian tennis talents. Hamad Medjedovic, a 20-year-old Serbian rising star, has recently revealed that Djokovic has been providing him with financial support throughout his young career.

Djokovic's assistance goes beyond just financial help; he has covered various aspects of Medjedovic's career needs. In an interview with Serbian news portal 'Sportal,' Medjedovic expressed his gratitude, saying, "Novak Djokovic’s been helping me out financially, giving me whatever I need for my career. He just helped me out when I needed it and [is] still helping me out in all types of ways. I’m glad he’s there for me."

Other support extended by Djokovic

This isn't the first time Djokovic has supported young Serbian talents. He has a reputation for nurturing and mentoring the future generation of Serbian tennis players. He called Medjedovic over to train with him, an opportunity that significantly benefitted the young player.

Medjedovic's father, Eldin, expressed his appreciation for Djokovic's support, comparing it to football legends like Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo inviting a young player to train with them. Djokovic's commitment to nurturing tennis talent in Serbia goes beyond individual cases, as he established the Novak Tennis Center in Belgrade 15 years ago.

Although Medjedovic has yet to establish himself fully on the professional tennis circuit, his career has shown promise, with a career-high ranking of 102. Djokovic even congratulated Medjedovic after his victory at the Mallorca Challenger in September. Djokovic's generosity is highly valued by young talents and their families, who admire his focus on the human side of the sport, not just financial success.
